a) I need to switch between devices.
You can simply disconnect the first device and then connect the second device with the same WatchingTVabroad VPN login details.

b) I need multiple devices connected simultaneously.
Please mind that simultaneous connections with one WatchingTVabroad account at the same time are not allowed because each VPN connection takes one Public IP and it is limited resource. This is also mentioned in our Terms of Service. You have following two options:

  1. Create a separate WatchingTVabroad accounts for each of your devices.
  2. Dial VPN from your home router / modem and connect multiple devices behind. Then all devices behind the router will use the VPN connection. Please find the VPN configuration guides for some routers at the Guides page.

The latest firmware can fix some errors in ADSL modems Aztech. The most common reason why your VPN connection doesn't work is in your ADSL modem (ADSL/NAT/WIRELESS router). If your VPN doesn't work, you can simply reboot the router by power cycle. The best way how to avoid such problems is to install latest firmware.

Latest firmware for Aztech modems used in UAE can be downloaded at: http://www.aztech.com/Support/drivers.html

Also don't forget to enable VPN passthrough option in your ADSL modem!

We have enough IP addresses on all servers and the number of these IPs increases as needed.

If you need very often IP address changing, then unfortunately this service is probably not suitable for you because our system always tries to keep the IP address as long as possible. This IP can change but NOT for each connection. IP may change in around 1-2 days period.

If you want to test WatchingTVabroad VPN services before you decide to purchase, please follow the next steps to activate your Free Trial:

  1. Activate the 2-day Free Trial here.
  2. Set up the VPN connection on your device using the VPN configuration guides at Guides page.

We do not monitor, record or store logs for anyones online activity. We however store following logs:

  1. Time, date and location of each VPN connection
  2. Duration of the vpn connection
  3. Bandwidth used during the connection
  4. Original (source IP of connection initiator) and assigned VPN IP address
We use that logs to enforce our Terms of Service, bandwidth policy, spam, crimes using the service, etc. If there is a violation we will use these trace logs to determine which account is in violation. After analysis of this data, we can decide to terminate the service and/or take further actions.

CAUSE:

  • Bottleneck on your ISPs international peering connectivity or trouble on some links between you and the VPN server.

SOLUTION:

Try to follow next steps:

  1. Please try to use all of the VPN servers and then choose the best one. Generally the closest server to your location should provide the best speed and latency. You can find the server list in your Members Area.
  2. You can try to use all of the supported VPN protocols. PPTP and L2TP/IPSec are generally faster than the SSTP and OpenVPN.

  4. Try to connect OpenVPN again.

Mac OS X

You have probably not enabled the option "send all traffic over VPN connection" in your VPN connection advanced settings. See the step 8 in this guide. You have to enable this option. Then it should work well.

Linux

OpenVPN on Linux?

Be sure that you run OpenVPN command as a root or with "sudo" before the command. Routing table should be automatically changed once the OpenVPN is connected but sometimes it doesn't work so try to check whether the VPN connection is set as a default gateway and if necessary modify your routing table manually. You can search Google to find some solution.

Due to high amount of infected Windows computers and SPAM we had to block outgoing SMTP (TCP port 25) connections on our VPN servers.

Once your computer is infected by virus, it sends SPAM emails and it may cause termination of your WatchingTVabroad VPN service as it is violation of Terms of Service. That's why you should keep your computer clean of viruses.

We block outgoing SMTP (TCP port 25) connections by default. Most famous free email services (gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc.) provide their SMTP servers also on SSL port TCP 465 which is more secure and this port is not widely used by viruses for sending spam. If you need to send emails from your email client (Outlook etc.), then just change your SMTP server settings to use SSL SMTP on port 465.

Of course we know that sometimes it is necessary for you to use SMTP port 25. In this case please contact us, we will enable SMTP connections on your account.

a) I need to switch between devices.

The IP address that you will get depends on VPN server country. Now you can choose from following VPN servers and Countries:

  • 6x United Kingdom (London and Gosport)
  • 6x USA (Denver,CO, New York,NY, Dallas,TX, Chicago,IL, Los Angeles,CA)

We do not monitor, record or store logs for anyones online activity. We however store following logs:

  1. Time, date and location of each VPN connection
  2. Duration of the vpn connection
  3. Bandwidth used during the connection
  4. Original (source IP of connection initiator) and assigned VPN IP address
We use that logs to enforce our Terms of Service, bandwidth policy, spam, crimes using the service, etc. If there is a violation we will use these trace logs to determine which account is in violation. After analysis of this data, we can decide to terminate the service and/or take further actions.

The European WatchingTVabroad VPN customers reported the average speeds around 3-6 Mbit/s on EU servers and aroun 1-2 Mbit/s on US servers. Unfortunately the speed is different for each customer. Please mind that all data has to go encrypted to the VPN server first and then to the target server. That's why the speed via VPN is always a bit lower than via your Internet connection. The speed differs on each of our servers and it is always affected by many factors:

  1. the distance between customer - VPN server - target server
  2. customer's ISP international peering connectivity
  3. network and bandwidth policies of ISP
  4. network state of each network on the way - each hop

It's always good to test all available VPN servers and find the fastest one for you.

If you experience with low speed please read this FAQ:
